JAMS, INTERNSHIPS, AUDITIONS & MORE? GET INVOLVED.

Coalition Theater offers internships in exchange for classes as a way of making our training center more accessible for individuals of all financial circumstances.

Internships

WHAT ARE THE PERKS?

In exchange for 40 credit hours, interns earn the benefit of taking free classes, seeing free shows, and learning a little bit more about the operations of the theater over the course of their internship. In exchange, interns volunteer their time working at our box office, concessions, and/or tech booth. They may also be asked to help with other tasks such as hanging posters/marketing materials around town. All class levels are available for internship, which includes Improv 101-401, Stand-Up 101 (when available), and Sketch Writing classes (when available).

HOW ARE INTERNS CHOSEN?

Interested applicants should email our Operations Coordinator. Submissions are rolling and there is no time limit for applying or completing the required 40 hours.

ATTEND A FREE JAM OR OPEN MIC

Be on the lookout for shows labeled Community Night, like The Mixer or Jambalaya. These are both opportunities for anyone to get on stage. You can also come out to the First Friday Free 4 All every First Friday at 10pm. Check the calendar online for more info about these shows.

TAKE A CLASS

Coalition Theater offers 8-week class sessions in improv, standup and sketch writing during the Spring, Summer, and Winter.

Not only is this a great way to build a solid foundation for understanding how to perform comedy, but it is an excellent way to meet and collaborate with others who are doing the same.

AUDITIONS

Coalition Auditions are held on an as-needed basis, but when we do decide to hold our next round of auditions, we will announce it through our website, social media and mailing list. Joining our mailing list is the best way way to receive updates, so click here to stay in the know and subscribe to the Coalition’s Newsletter.
